new world park ice kacang

one of my favourite desserts is ice kacang but i try to stay away from all the bastardized versions that are being flaunted around. i just like it plain and simple. shaved ice with syrup, beans, corn and a scoop of ice cream. this time around i gave in to the bananas. :-)

pie surprise

i met the pie-man.. i did... we were at the PG go-kart festival 2010 and one of the stalls/vans was selling all types of sweet pies. apple, banana, cheese, lemon, coconut, chocolate... i think there was over 20 different pies.. i had to get a slice or two... but which one? how can someone be forced to make a decision like this? how to choose? how to choose laah...!!!!??? i finally chose a slice of apple and another of banana. tastewise, the banana filling tasted better than the apple. the crust was not too sweet but i felt was a bit too dry and crumbly. overall, i would rate the pies at 6/10. i do however commend him on his variety of pies and i actually DO want to try his other pies as well, especially the "open top"ones. by the way, the pie-man's van trolls around a few pasar malams.. really..!! i kid you not..!!!

Choc Banana Bread Pudding

Made this last nite. Have been thinking about this ever since we had the delicious mouth watering bread pudding at EnO buffet lunch last month.

Mine was okay. I think I can improve. As usual, everything is nice for Ed.

dominos dessert

for my birthday this year, i suggested to go with an "alternative" cake. i'm pretty sick of the normal sponge, cheese, choc , mousse or blackforest cakes... so this year we went with dominos... yes, thats right... dominos..!!! the banana kaya dessert (aka alternate birthday cake#1) its basically a personal pan pizza base smothered with kaya and pieces of banana tastes so-so only. much too little slices of banana. 5/10 only. the cinnamon bread dessert (aka alternate birthday cake#2)

its bread topped with cinnamon and sugar. very nice and soft. not fluffy soft though. and its different from the other pizza place cinnamon bread sticks etc. best consumed while its hot. it actually taste quite nice and sweet already without the icing provided. i give it 7/10.
