Nasi Lemak and assorted dishes
Cooked a few dishes.
Some not really normal nasi lemak fare but it worked in general and well received.
ladies finger with sambal har-bee (dried shrimp)..
the boys all time favorite.
egg sambal,
the std supplement to the nasi lemak.
yummy and easy to make.
chicken rendang,
1st time i tried this recipe. think it turned out okay.
potato massala,
tastes much better than the ones in the lunch stalls.
sliced cucumber,
crunchy and...eer..cucumbery..
how can you have nasi lemak without this, right..? a sin.. :-)
Magic Cutter?
Stood there watching this man for 10 mins and I tell you he is good. The pixs below say it all.
Only RM10 ... and I bought one from Uncle Kenny : )
Mee Siam for dinner
So today's dinner is specially requested by him (of course minus the chillies)
Look at how 'small' the prawns are. That's what you get when you go to the wet market after 10 am : (
A lot of work put into peeling the shells so I cheated.
My favourite brand bi hun (rice vermicelli).
Tau Cheong aka taucu.
Mee Siam Paste:
Tau Cheong (Bean paste) 1 tab
Shallots - 12
Garlic - 10
Fresh Chillies - 4
- Blend all the ingredients into paste then stir fry with oil and voila you have Mee Siam paste.
Ed had 3 helpings.... Ry said "very good Mummy"....and Don ate his mee siam with chopsticks : )
parupu curry
Parupu curry.
Lentils, potatos, carrots....
They can finish their dinner in 10mins if they hv this.

naan @ subaidah sg dua
Meat free or veggies for this season as much as we can.
naan bread and veggie dhal for dinner, works..
We really love naan bread.
The naan is quite good and is made fresh.
We used to eat at the one from K.Mus but that one is sorely lacking.
The naan here is quite soft and with the edges slightly crispy.
The dhal is quite nice as well though I do detect MSG.
its quite thick, mildly spicy and its got lots of 'parapu'.
So far, we've only tried the plain, onion and garlic naan.

steamed hor fun with fish@ maxim pekaka
Not everybody can prepare it well.
And so elpea says that there is this place with good horfun and immediately i think 'good char horfun'? Really?
So i went in with no expectations and surprisingly got blown away.
Its actually quite a simple dish. Steamed horfun with fish fillet.
The horfun was smooth and blended well with the light soy sauce. And the best part was that the fish was fresh and tasted excellent.

Chai Tau Kuih (Radish cake)
This has become my favourite recently. You can find this at any dim sum restaurant. I like the one from Maxim Pekaka best. The only thing that I dont like is that they serve in 3 pieces per plate. I tried to order a piece but they wont sell .... unless I pay the price of 3.
Thank GOD that Ry likes it too. Now I can share with him.
