koay kak @lipsin market part 2

The 2nd stall in the lip sin market is the motorbike stall in front of the sin kek seng coffee shop.

The koay kak was firm and not mushy but tasted quite salty.

Well, all I can say is that it was better than the 1st stall but still not better than the one I had behind sg ara taimima coffee shop.

Overall 3/10

Go back to sg ara to buy?

Maybe I need to try the one in supertanker as well.

Muar chee and ham chin peng

Muar chee @lip sin market

There are 2 type of muah chee, The butterfly type which is slighty puffier and the ribbon type which is well ,, see the picture …

The one I had is the ribbon version

Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside

Generous amounts of muah on it as well.

Overall 7/10

Haam chim peng @lip sin market

Quite tender and with lots of red bean paste.

Much more redbean than what I’ve seen elsewhere.

The sg ara one cant beat this. Sorry.

Overall 8/10

Koay kak at lipsin market, furthest away from sin kekseng coffee shop

sigh… Ok so when I start with a sigh, it does not bode well koay kak from the lipsin market. there are essesntially 2 stalls there one near the sin kek seng coffee shop and the one that i bought from which is furthest away. basically, its: Too moist Too oily Too mushy Really sucked i rate it 1/10, just because it filled my stomach where oh where can i get good koay kak... i hope the other one is better sigh...

laksa@ coffeshop in front of ping hwa gottlieb rd.

We’ve gone to this shop for a few years already but most of the time only when we go vist my dad. or when we got some meetings up north and we make a pitstop here.

Noodles are springy and don’t stick together like other shops. Soup has lot of fish meat and very flavourful. Personally, i think Air itam laksa sucks(again its just MY opinion only, since I still see throng of people going there). The one that are not too bad: pg road, bb behind sunshine, behind giant burma rd and bukit jambul, in that order. The supertanker laksa sucks as well. really.....!! I’m not a soup person but Elpea drinks everything so you know whos bowl is whos below. I just go for the noodles and the fish meat. I like mine with shrimp paste as it give it that tinge of sweetness. Elpea cannot stand shrimp paste in hers. (and now you know how to sabo her laksa... hehehe..) By the way, the stall also sells fried popiah which I find very yummy as well. note that they only start selling around noon til 5pm. too early or too late and you'll be dissapointed. overall rating of 9/10.
