Look at that...isn't it beautiful? I just love the colors. Well, it is yummy too. Made this for pot luck at a fren's hse the other day. Kim taught me how to make this.

Impossible pie which is impossible to make

This is the pie that I failed miserably to make. The pie is called impossible pie...patutlah tak jadi pun ... LOL.
I am not going to try making this again. It is so unlike me. Normally I dont give up easily. Well, it is not about giving up. It is because I dont think it will taste nice base on my 1st attempt as the recipe calls for coconut flakes and there is nothing chocolaty about it.
No sharing of recipe as I dont think it works and I do not want you experience the same failure.

Elmo & Floral Cupcakes Designs

I made these last year when icing mania strike :) I got excited when Lyn brought back cupcakes with floral decoration previous year and I vowed to make some myself hence my experiment on icing begins.
My first attempt was for Ry’s birthday party at his kindy. We asked him what kind of cake he wanted and he said ELMO. Thank God I asked him weeks before the party which bought me time to google it out. It took me 3 long hrs just to do the icing. 2nd attempt was for Kim, Tee Boo and Nora’s birthday party at the office. I wasn’t very good with wordings hence I only make alphabets K, N & T to represent their name. Smart leh :) 3rd attempt was much better. I made them for Ry’s and Jane’s birthday party at my mum’s place. The result was really good.

Orange Cupcakes

Cupcakes are easy to make. Anyone can make this...of coz not the extravaganza recipe lah. I normally make orange cupcakes using those orange that is not edible. Not edible here means too sour lah... not rotten orange.
The recipe is ingrain in my head. Here you go.
Ingredient: 250gm self raising flour 1 block of butter (250g) 220gm self caster sugar (i reduce it to 210 from 250g) 4 eggs Orange juice (from 2 oranges) Orang rind (from the oranges) 1 teaspoon of baking powder (i dunno i just add this, some told me that you do not need it when using self raising flour... tak tau lah)
Note: The cakes shown in the pictures are those bake without baking powder using normal flour as I wanted to see what happen w/o baking powder...experiment mah. Note 2: See the recipe is so easy... everything is 250g. How can one forget?
Method: 1. Mix and blend the sugar and egg till soft. Add in the egg (one at the time, beats me why we do that).
2. Add in the orange juice and rind. Continue mixing. Add in flour and baking powder (few spoons at one time), mix. 3. Pour into cupcakes mould and bake. Remember to preheat the oven. Bake at 180C for about 10 to 15 mins depending on the type our your oven.
Bottomline bake till it is brown outside. You can take it out and test it by using toothpick (clean one) and poke it into the cake. If the pick comes out dry and clean, your cake is done. Simple right?

Cream Puffs

My 1st attempt at cream puffs. Guess I will be making more till I got the type of cream I want. Next time I am going to pipe the cream into the puffs. First batch went flat after it was out from the oven and I found out that it was because I did not bake it long enough. I wonder why the recipe stated that we shud keep the oven door ajar after 7 mins of baking.
It is fun to make the puffs.
The recipe (how I made it)
Puff dough
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup water
125g unsalted butter cut into pieces
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup rose flour
5 large eggs, at room temperature
1. Bring the milk, water, butter, sugar and salt to the boil in a pot
2. Add flour once mixture is boiling and continue stirring with wooden spoon. The dough will come together
3. Transfer the dough into a mixing bowl and add the eggs gradually 1 at a time
4. Pour into piping bag and pipe out the shape as desire (remember to pipe into baking sheet or parchment to avoid it sticking to the tray or pan)
5. Bake at 190C for aproximately 15 - 20mins (till it is brown). I did not let the oven door ajar like stated in the recipe... (mayb this is the reason why my 1st batch went flat).
Cream
1. Follow the recipe ( I did not do anything different)
