Hokkein prawn mee @ the green house, Burma rd.

its so nice to eat at a place where there is no obnoxious aunty/uncle telling you that you hv to wait 30mins to be served and then see them serve "gold-card-telephone-customers" first when you've been sitting there for more than 1/2 hr already.
FIFO laa auntie

the prawn noodles at the green house was pretty good compared to the rest of the competitors in georgetown.
the soup was sweet and full of flavor.
and we were served within 5minutes of ordering, eventhough the place was packed.

ah'll be bak..

Salami and sausage sandwich

With chilli mustard dressing of course...

Hokkien mee

I vowed never to come back here coz the last time we waited for 30 mins & they served those who came after us.

Today I broke my vow. Don't think I will come back in the near future ... Maybe next 2 years. I have tasted better Hokkien Mee so it is not worth the wait. This time we waited for 15 mins & 46 secs. Yes..that precise coz I used the stopwatch on my phone. A lot of people as usual.

Hiyoh... Do direct observation lah please. Improve your process & system. So much waste.

Yippee... Tarts from Taiwan!! Thank you Gav & madam. This is the best pineapple tart.

What's next?

I am all alone at home... have been sitting...sitting and sitting coz I sprained my ankle. While sitting (sigh) I am inspired to make kuih ketayap. Totally no connection between sitting and kuih ketayap ... LOL

Ry will definitely loves it coz he likes anything that is COCONUT.

wan tanmee @ tai wah cafe, argyll road, behind odeon.

i've never been to this place before.
after our exasperating time at the police station and the hospital, dad took me here for lunch.
tai wah cafe at argyll road
it's a nice quaint little wan tan mee stall in the heart of town, behind the odeon cinema, directly opp the the petrol station.

we ordered 1 small and 1 big bowl of dry wantan mee.
the noodles were nice and springy.
very good texture.

the wan tan itself was a bit bland but with the soy sauce it was ok.

i've had better though.
3/5.

Mcflurry face-off

so far, I've tried both the chocolate cornetto mcflurry and the now the new milo supreme mcflurry.
the verdict?
both are quite nice, but the cornetto has more "character" and more crunch. crushed cone, choc chips and choc sauce.
the milo version is just the the soft serve ice cream with just milo and milo ball cereal. its ok but not really for me.

the winner, the cornetto mcflurry wins hands down.
the oreo mcflurry comes in a close second though.. :-)

Gardenia waffles...

Gardenia just released its line of waffles. You can just POP them into the toaster and its done.

For now it comes in 3 favours:
Wholemeal
Banana
Vanilla

2 pieces per pack.
To be truthful, it tasted only So-so.
I expected better. It tasted kind off bland.
It shud taste better with a scoop of vanilla icecream and drizzled with chocolate sauce.
I hope.

Not sure if it will "sell". For $1.40

Home baked sheppard's pie ala Starbucks

Had sheppard's pie at Starbucks last week & was determined to make my own coz it was freaking expensive & I knew I could do as good or even better. RM7.50 each.

I used basic pie crust dough (butter+flour+egg+water) and moulded them into cups using the ramekins that Lyn bought. Definitely need some improvements in shaping them into deep & smooth cups.

It turned out well! Hmmm I can bake this for Christmas.

Green tea frap

donno why but i'm kinda hooked on the soy green tea frap with choc chips....

Ais kacang @ lorong macalister

I've been waiting for this stall to be opened ever since elpea went there during her foodhunt with gl .
It's on the corner of macalister lane, at the junction of Burma rd.

An old lady man's the cart which serves ice kacang and cendol.

The cendol tasted quite good but I felt that ice kacang was only So-so.
The ice shaving was pretty rough and the red beans portion was quite little.
I'm not one for cendol, so if I like the cendol better, then its not a good sign.

Overall, tastewise, i've had better. A slightly anti-climatic experience.
